  • ¾ cup honey BBQ sauce Feel free to use alternative sauces for different flavors.
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Gradually add until melted.
  • ½ cup diced onions Sauté until translucent.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing the onions.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Used for seasoning.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to preference.

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Sauté diced onions until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes.
  • Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  • Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream and honey BBQ sauce until well combined.
  • Gradually add cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and creamy.
  • Adjust seasonings if needed and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Leftover pasta can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of chicken broth or water.
