Ingredients
  

Peach Mixture

  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced Use ripe, fresh peaches for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup sugar Adjust based on the sweetness of your peaches.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adds warmth and flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice Enhances the peach flavor.

Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar Remaining sugar for batter.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder Leavening agent.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Serving

  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream (optional) Great for serving on top of warm cobbler.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Let this sit for about 10 minutes.

Batter Preparation

  • In another bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Stir in the milk and melted butter to form a batter.

Assembly and Baking

  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  • Spoon the peach mixture over the batter. Do not stir, as the batter will rise during baking.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider sprinkling oats or nuts over the top before baking. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
