Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats Choose gluten-free oats if necessary.
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter or almond butter Use your preferred nut butter.
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup Maple syrup can be used for a vegan option.

Add-ins

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips Optional for added sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts Such as walnuts or almonds.
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit Such as raisins or cranberries.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, peanut butter, and honey or maple syrup.
  • Add the chopped nuts and dried fruit to the mixture. Stir well until all ingredients are combined.
  • If using, mix in dark chocolate chips.
  • Line a baking dish with parchment paper. Press the mixture firmly into the dish to create an even layer.
  • Refrigerate for about 30 minutes to set.

Serving

  • Once set, remove from the fridge and cut into bars or squares.
  • These snacks can be served on their own or with fresh fruit or yogurt.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Can be frozen for up to three months. Press the mixture firmly for better texture and feel free to experiment with different nut butters and sweeteners.
