  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh broccoli is recommended for best flavor and texture.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Adjust according to taste; low-sodium option can be used.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice for serving For serving the dish.

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned.
  • Stir in the broccoli florets and soy sauce.
  • Cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until broccoli is tender.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve over cooked rice.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat thoroughly before serving. You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for variety and consider sprinkling sesame seeds on top before serving.
