  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water Make sure it is warm, not hot, for yeast activation.
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Toppings

  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • to drizzle spicy hot honey Adjust according to your heat preference.
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish) For added flavor and color.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it bubble for about 5-10 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, covered.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Spread the dough onto a greased baking sheet, making dimples with your fingers.
  • Drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with minced garlic and parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and drizzle with spicy hot honey before serving.

Notes

Store any leftover focaccia at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze well-wrapped. Reheat in the oven for best results.
