Ingredients
  

For the sushi bake

  • 2 cups sushi rice Rinse under cold water until clear
  • 3 cups water For cooking the rice
  • 1 lb crab meat Can substitute with other seafood
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Use Japanese mayo for more flavor
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha Adjust to taste for spice level
  • 1 cup shrimp tempura Cooked and ready to layer
  • 1/4 cup green onions Chopped for garnish
  • as needed Nori sheets For serving
  • as needed Sesame seeds For garnish

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine rice and water in a pot and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 18 minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix crab meat, mayonnaise, and sriracha.
  • Once the rice is done, spread it evenly in a baking dish.
  • Layer the crab mixture over the rice.
  • Add cooked shrimp tempura on top of the crab layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until heated through.
  • Remove from oven, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven to maintain the texture.
