  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature butter for best results.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Can substitute with granulated sugar, but may affect texture.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Can reduce for less sweetness.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Can mix different types of chocolate chips.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the creamed mixture.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for enhanced flavor and texture. Serve warm, possibly with a glass of milk or a scoop of ice cream on top.
