Ingredients
  

Pasta and Proteins

  • 8 oz pasta (any type) Use your favorite type, such as penne or fusilli.
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced Feel free to substitute with any type of sausage.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream Adjust the amount for desired creaminess.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Can add more for a thinner consistency.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Add extra for serving if desired.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 onion chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Cooking the Sausage

  • In a large pot, cook the sliced smoked sausage over medium heat until browned.

Making the Sauce

  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the pasta, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer.
  • Cook uncovered for 10-12 minutes or until the pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally.
  • Once cooked, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

To store leftovers, allow the pasta to cool down, then place it in an airtight container. Can keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, add a splash of chicken broth or cream if it looks dry.
