Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Add eggs one at a time.
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Use a cookie scoop or spoon to place dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven, let them cool on the sheets for a couple of minutes, and then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with milk or vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Best enjoyed fresh, but can be frozen for up to 3 months.
