Ingredients
  

Wonton Filling

  • 1 package Wonton wrappers
  • 1 lb Ground meat (pork or chicken) You can use other proteins like beef or crab.
  • 1/2 cup Shrimp Optional.
  • 1 cup Chopped vegetables (scallions, carrots, mushrooms)
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (grated)
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Broth

  • 4 cups Broth (chicken or vegetable)

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine ground meat, shrimp, chopped vegetables, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Take a wonton wrapper and place a small amount of filling in the center.
  • Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper, and seal it tightly.

Cooking

  • In a pot, bring the broth to a boil.
  • Add the wontons to the boiling broth and cook until they float to the top.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with additional scallions if desired.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store the wontons and broth separately in airtight containers. You can keep them in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, simply warm the broth and add the wontons until heated through. Be careful not to overfill the wontons and ensure the edges are moistened well for proper sealing. Experiment with different fillings like tofu for a vegetarian version.
